i bought 2 multi's and 3 punks last friday and although they are all getting along fine with my main tank i have decided to put them in there own 40ltr tank. doing this for a couple of reasons

1: going to completely rescape the main tank
2: want a juli
3: will be interesting to watch a colony of multi's form and i don't think they will do that in my main tank.

so i have broken down my planted tank (that was heart breaking as my plants where bloody nice and all really healthy, i have actually kept 90% of the plants, i've gone for a washed up beach look with a shoreline of plants.

the back 1/4 of the tank is plant fert with gravel on top ( i actually kept my old substrate ), added broken up tuffa rock to create a barrier to stop the fert substrate washing into the sand that covers the front 3/4. i have some cryps planted in the sand (see how long these last), swords and vallis at the back.

i will get some decent pics up tonight.

the plan is to move the muli's in when i break down my main tank (because from experience you can't catch cichlids in a tank full of rock work.

currently have 2 filter skrimp, mts and a couple cherry shrimp in the 40ltr, again will see how long they all last with the cichlids. oh i also have 4 5 banded barbs in the 40 ltr that i desperately want to rehome but noone seems to want them.

i have the remaining shrimp in a plastic tub unitl i can sell them on.

Looking good, it's nice to see some green in a tang tank :good: I have loads of fern and moss in a couple of mine, better attached to rocks or free floating, your multies will probably dig the plants up, nice opic. , cheers for posting :good:
