Hi, I`ve got a small colony of Multi`s ('Lamprologus' multifasciatus) to move from a tank of there own to a 180 Litre Tank Containing : -
2 Small Petricola Catfish (who were in with the Multis and didn`t touch the fry)
5 Juvie Cyprichromis leptosoma (Utinta)
Adult Pair of Julidochromis Regani.

I`m going to place the new shells in an area of the tank allocated for them but should I just move the larger Multis or should I move the fry aswell ? I`m concerned the fry may be seen as food if they don`t get to cover quick enough or will they be fine ?

Well I'd move just the adults personally. Then move the fry at a later time if possible. If I wanted to keep the fry there is no point in risking it, the fry that are then produced in the larger tank will stand a better chance as they are already starting in there. Hope that came across ok.

How many multi's roughly do you have then?

I was thinking of upgrading my multi's and adding more Tang.s. That or I leave my multi's where they are and setup a few species tanks.

Maybe 20+ fry less than 1cm.
I`ve had an Idea, put the new shells in with the Multis (in the old tank) wait until they take up residence then move them with the shells !

I've actually bought multi's from the LFS in shells, I even managed to get 3 multi's while meant to be getting 2 :)

If I upgrade my mutli tank, I want more of them.
