Put a tank in the office!!!

Set this up just about a week ago! It's a Juwel Rekord 70, with arched cories, snails and a troop of sparkling gouramis - they are nutters!

They almost gave me a heart attack last night cos they started croaking and I thought the building was collapsing or something!!

How did you cycle it ? Fishless or cloned ?

Cloned - quite of few of my tanks are Juwels which take the same sponges, so I just swap a sponge over. I also do the gravel in a popsock and stick a moss ball in and it seems ot work fine.

Yep, it is Elodea. It's only been in a week, I'm gonna have to prune it soon.

I'm adding fertilisers and CO2 via SERA CO2 tablets, and sometime in the next few days I'm adding another light following the instructions in one of the DIY threads. I'm hoping to go for the really lush look, with riccia carpeted rocks etc - I've never managed to get a really nice planted tank before, so I'm trying to start off right from the start with this one.

It looks brilliant. What do you do about feeding the fish over the weekend ? or are they fine left for a couple of days each week - I've thought about doing the same but haven't fancied making trips into work at the weekend !

I give 'em an extra feed before I go on Friday night, and leave them for the weekend. Seems to have worked okay so far. The office is manned 24/7 so I could get someone to feed them, but I don't really want to start that cos someone is bound to feed them too much. They are such little piggies I'm sure they would eat till their stomachs exploded!! Poor little MTSs don't get many scraps left to eat!

I wish I could do that but I work in a lab and we have some nasty smelling chemicals.....

Great looking tank! Wish I had a spot for one here. Would make work so much more peaceful (and the bubbling tank sounds would cover the noise my co-worker insists is actually a form of music, along with his constand foot tapping and drumming on his desk). Adorable little gouramis too.

Wow. I wish I could set one up here at work. I work in a Hospital (operating room) and I know it would be awesome to have out in the waiting room so people could take their minds off the whole waiting bit. I love going into offices that have a nice big one set up.
