Loony.
I am hoping to move at the end of July some 300 miles to Cornwall. Am very excited but also worried about moving my fish! I have a 6ft tank with catfish (synos mainly, but a few bn's) loaches, my EBJD's and some Congo tetra's, as well as my smaller tank for all my oap little fish. I have cut down on my tank numbers considerably and sold my malawi's to new homes although no one wants my syno angelicus, who cannot live with other syno's so she may be coming in a spare tank too.
How do I get them there? I had planned on moving them into dustbins filled with tank water the night before and running the filters in them, but can't see how all my fish would fit into just three or four dustbins that I can get into my car and run filters on until leaving time. What about all the rest of the fish, how can I keep the bacteria alive in the filters between homes and how can I make sure all the fish are oxygenated sufficiently for the journey etc? The fish may well be in the containers for 24 hours plus depending on how smoothly (or not) the move goes. Any and all advice appreciated. I have quite a lot of aquatic plants in both tanks, I assume these are best kept separate from the fish and packed up separably?
