Hey everyone my swordtail fry are a month old now and are all big enough to not be eaten by the fish in the main tank, i want to move them but i'm concerned their growth will be stunted by the adults or thats what i heard can happen anyway. What do you suggest i do?

How many gallons does the tank hold, how many and what type of fish do you have in it and how many swordtail fry do you have?

Putting a lot of fry in a tank with a large population will mean that the small fish will lose out at feeding time. It will also mean that you will have to do a lot more work on keeping things clean. A fry growout tank is the best way to give them a chance but then you have an extra tank to maintain. If you are going raise the fry for sale or trade you will need a growout tank. How many fish are you planning on keeping? If you do not have a plan for the fry then it may be best not to save them in the future and let them take their chances at birth. Swordies can give you 100 fry or more every 30-40 days  I raise my fry for sale and have kept a few for restocking but I have only been able to raise about 15% or less to a size that they are of intrest for sale. I was very gung-ho to save every fry in the beginning but soon became aware that it was impossible. I would have need at least 5 15gal tanks to have even had a chance!
