What's the best way to acclimatise fish from an established tank with a pH of around 6.0-6.2, to a newly cycled tank with a pH of around 7.0-7.2?.
I was thinking of using a bucket with the original water, and slowly add water from the higher pH tank over a period of time. How much water should I add (ie: 1:1, 2:1 etc), and over what period of time?

Also what would be the best thing to use to bring the pH up a little without using chemical products, calcium (in the form of crushed shells)?.

Thanks for any advice. :good:

IMO, for large water quality changes such as these, the drip aclimation technique is the most appropriate. You float them in a bag, as normal, for 20mins, to equilise temperatures, then drop em into a bucket, and add a slow syphon drip line to the bucket from the tank, such that it takes about 3hours to fill the bucket. This ensures the fish goe through the change slowly
