I just got her in. she doesn't look stressed out so i think she'll be ok. Her gravid spot is getting darker!!!!! I am so excited!!! :D This will be her first batch with me (and im sure its her only ???? ) and i want to know how many she will have (on estimate). What should i do with the ones i am not going to keep? should i give them to a pet store? I am trying to find friends but no luck  . I don't want them to sell them as food for other fish :-(

:fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish: :fish:

turn the lights off and don't peak. or she willg et stressed :p

I was told to expect anything between 1 - 50 ish fry depending on her age.

So far mine have only had small broods.

As i dont take mine out of the tank the numbers are kept a little lower cos of the odd snack fry. I just let nature do its thing.

if you have no plans for the fry at the minute then i would let her out, let her have the fry in the main tank, then any you see you put in the breeder, this way you won't end up with a large number.
petstores my take them but they would need to be atleast half grown some only except fully grown and you will get very little if anything for them

Mine have only ever had small broods aswell. I let nature run its course most of the time. I have about 4-6 fry running around my planted tank that i can count. Some are tiny. I dont like using breeding traps so i make sure there are lots of plants to hide in and lots of hiddy holes.

Same here, i dont like traps either. I have plenty of plans and bog wood with lots of nocks in.

I will post pics of the fry. she doesn't look stressed out so i think she's ok
Thanks everyone!!!!!!

I've seen the post of your pic, and honestly, she's not ready to deliver within another at least 2 weeks...... Looking at her size, I think she could deliver between 17 to 28 fry, but with your obvious experience, I'd say that you could rely on having 8 to 15 babies. (not being harsh, but reallistic).
