Hi I’m moving house in a few weeks and would like some advice on the least stressful way to move my fish.
I have a 63litre tank with 3 Corys, 3 Danios, 2 Shrimps and a Snail. There were more but over the last few months a couple have passed away, and with the move in mind, were not replaced. There are also 3 plants in the tank. The tank is about a year old so I want to keep the Bacteria alive so I don’t have to start a new cycle especially as it’s my only tank and don’t want to do it with fish in.
Luckily the move is not far, it’s about a 10 min drive on a good day and there’s no rush to get out the house were in now, which means I can move furniture etc and leave animals here until all set up and then bring all the pets over.
I was thinking of bagging the fish as they do in pet shops and moving them that way and as for the tank I would remove most water but beep gravel covered and place filter on gravel and keep that covered also so bacteria survives the move. Then simply refill tank and put fish back.
If anyone has experience in moving tanks and fish there advice would be appreciated or anyone who can see a problem with my plan, again, advice welcome.
