moving house, moving tank!

i had sorta thougt about that.. will have to take a look at the filter media to see what is there.. haven't had a good look yet, as it is so new.. and i would only want to set it up.. is that sad. i'm getting excited by a new filter!! :*)

so do this to some of the media.. or to all of it?

thanks again!

i'm not sure i understand anymore

you have a current tank with undergravel filter and you're buying a new tank with a rena filter?

if so, then take enough gravel from on top of your undergravel filter and put them in the basket when you start up the new tank.

if not, then I'm lost

sorry it's my strange way of explaining things :p

what i wanted to know is, this new tank will have two xp3 filters, one new we bought, and the one that came with the tank (it is second hand, but only a year old). do i put gravel in the bottom of both the filters, or just the one.. ?

which layer do i substitue for the gravel.. from what i can gather it would be the biological filtration section??

the set up is (according to the instructions): top to bottom
chemical filtration (carbon, etc)
biological filtration (ceramic rings, etc)
then
mechanical filtration (foam)

thanks again!
