I have three tanks and one BN pleco. I was wondering how often it would be ok to move him so that I can keep the algae down in all of my tanks without permanently adding to the bioload.

Interesting question. I tend to not like to think about a fish as an object, however I'm also not that familiar with how similar the water chemistry of your tanks might be, how hardy a BN is to transfers and how patient you might be to do acclimations. My gut reaction is that fish are among the species on this planet that are much more married to their immediate environment that we are, making it quite difficult for us to imagine what it is like for them when that environment changes.

I've been thinkig about this. As WD says, it's an interesting question and one I don't know the answer to. I don't think it's a great idea TBH. Either get a BN for each tank, or clean up the algae yourself, lol.

I just can't imagine your idea will make you BN happy.
