Moving Fish Help!

Hi all, i have a 260l juwel aquarium with around 40 fish which i need to move. Only moving a couple of miles down the road. Does anyone know if there are people that can provide a moving service as im really unsure of what to do. Im near manchester in the north westbof anybody knows of a moving service! Thank you!

go to your lfs and ask for a couple of poly boxes, half fill with tank water and add the fish equally in the 2 boxes. the fish will be fine especially as its not a long move and just be sure to keep your filter media submerged in tank water too to prevent too much bacteria loss. keep the fish in the box without opening the lid if poss and place them back in the newly set up tank. as your not moving far i would guess that the water parameters will be pretty much the same so it will be like you have just done a big water change.

its worrying when moving tanks but just take your time and everything should be fine. just keep an eye on the water stats for the next few days after setting up at the new home as you will lose some bacteria in the filters but this should multiply and get back up to speed within a few days. maybe feed a little less to start off with to help.
