Moving Day. . . .

Chrissy: thanks for the info--am moving soon and I was planning to try and anchor down the half full tank with fish inside it, into the car. Great idea, will start saving the jars now!
Ha... yeah glad I came along, that is a bad idea, sends fish flying and gets the car wet. :S

Don't want flying fish! hehe--but then what did you do to set up again? I assume you transport some old tank water so as to avoid recycling the tank when it's set up again?

If the tank is cycled then, sure, I would assume you leave some in, enough to coat the gravel and keep the filter in some tank water.... but I've never transported a cycled tank. I dunno, I'm just worried about the fish here, and that's the way to transport em... not sure about the tanks.. never had to do that. I always emptied mine out cause they're not cycled.

I've just transported a salt water tank and a small cichlid tank both of which are cycled.

I took all the water out of the salt tank and put them in jugs. And then put it all back in when the tank got to the new house.

The cichlid tank - I have a HOB and I left a third of water in the tank. But it will go through a mini-cycle but it should be quicker than startin' from scratch. :good:

Yay, good luck with everything!!! I hope it all works out, and don't get nerve wrecked!!!!

Enjoy the new house too!!
