So we moved into the new house and I packed up the fishy kids. Some in bags some in plastic containers it was a mess. They all made it and have adjusted well.

Well my festivum got pretty beat up I'm not sure how. I think my 2 year old is to blame. I was putting the fish in the tanks last night Zoe was trying to help. She had a net I had my hands in the tank and was telling her no leave the fish. She did so I went back to my work then I look back and she had my festivum in the net. :shout: I could not even be mad I was impressed and proud.

I see my festivum now looking ragged and not swimmig that well I think he will be ok in the end. But I only turned away for 2 min and Zoe had caught the fish. One of my discus fell on the carpet and flopped around for a little bit till I caught him. My poor pictus cat got stuck in the net and I had to cut him out he still has net on his fins I will get a photo. But the discus and pictus are fine and well. It was a very stressful day moving fish.

lol at the Festivum and the Discus flopping around the floor!

The festivum never hit the floor my 2yr daughter caught it in the net. It was crazy.

I was just going to email to see how things are going. Love the story about Zoe. Little fisheries biologist in the making. I can imagine... no actually I have no idea what it would be like to move two huge tanks. I wish you well. I wish the festivum well too, but you are pretty good in the healing arts.

At least the weather was cooperating!!!

Did you decide to forego the bigger tank?

Ouch. It's a painful enough experience moving house without moving fish too !

I feel for you.

The last time I moved, I only had one small 120 litre tank, and it was quite a performance even then. I dread to think how much stress is involved with much more.

Now that I have 230 gallons of tanks combined I'm simply never moving again. That's it, I'm done !!!

My 3 year old is the same, I darnt move fish while he is around  I had a pictus that had been cut out of a net, he swam round the tank for days with it still stuck to him, he looked like he was wearing mittens. I ended up having to catch him in a breeding trap and my hubby held the trap with just a little water in while I carefully tweezered and cut the rest of the net away.

Glad everyone made the move ok :good:

Yeah it's an adventure moving fish. Haha my pictus has mittens too. I don't know when I will try and get it off. Poor guy was out of the water for a few min when I was freaking out trying to cut him free.

Yeah the larger tank would be too much work because the floor joyce would need to be enforced if I went larger then 100gal. Maybe some day but for now it's ok. We need to put money into fixing the bathrooms first.

My festivum seems to be doing ok he swim a little better but still not 100%. My discus are working out the peckin order again it's fun to watch. They don't fight just do that side wiggel at each other.

Yes moving large tanks is stressful and a good work out haha. I'm not moving again till my daughter is done with high school.
