I have a 30 Gal tank, i need to move it to the other side of my bed room, i realize water weighs appx. 10lbs per gallon. So the tank is appx. 300lbs. My thought was to empty half the water out (with the fish in the tank), then it will be about 150 lbs, get a buddy to grab an end, lift it and carry it to the other side of the room, then put the water back in. Any thoughts or warnings??, my fear is the tanking breaking or something, that would be just my luck.

No, you want to be less than that, too much stress on the tank. You might want to just bucket the fish or if you don't have too many just get the water down so close to the substrate that they can barely swim. There's no problem with this as long as you condition (use a product that removes chlorine/chloramine) and roughly temperature match the refill water in the new position. Move the tank very gently and slowly and make sure its very level and on a very even surface in the new position. Just my 2 cents. WD
