Hi,
Well I dropped off the deep end and purchased a 180gl established Reef system. It has a 60 gal sump and a seperate 50 gl refugium. The system has 16 fish along with 14 inverts. It has a DSB and approx. 250lbs of Live Rock. I hired a "Professional" service to move the thing as I didn't think I could handle it. The main concern I have is killing the denitrifying bacteria when the sand is moved. Will this cause the tank to uncycle? and will I need to find a temporary home for the animals or can they go right in after it's set up. I plan on only having the system down for no more than 4 hrs during the move. I am using 80% of the original water. Any other tips I should know about moving such a monster? I know after the move I'll have many questions.
Thanks

Should be fine as long as iuts within 12 hours. I have known tanks have powercuts for this period and operate on DSBs. They have never suffered fromthis. I would add the fish right away as the tanks bacteria should still be operational.
Just make the move aas quick and stress free as possible

Thanks for your input. That is pretty much what the service company told me. I am just trying to cover all the bases.
