i need to move my cichlid fish from my 30 gallon tank to my 65 gallon tank what is the best and easy way to do it and the proper way to handle the fish when its time to transfer.

i need to move my cichlid fish from my 30 gallon tank to my 65 gallon tank what is the best and easy way to do it and the proper way to handle the fish when its time to transfer.

Siphon all the water into buckets where you can keep your cichlids. Put the cichlids, decorations, filter, all that crap in the buckets. Take the 30 off the cabinet or whatever you have to do. Set the new one up, dump the old substrate in if it will match the new stuff, put the decorations in as well as the old water. Fill the rest with new water and put the fishies in. If you are changing filters, you may want to do your homework on cloning.


Keep in mind that this tends to be a long, messy project so make sure you have a few hours and lots of garbage bags to spread out on your carpet lol!
