Hey,
Just wandering, i have a pregnant platy, and i wanna use a breeder trap. this is her 3rd buch of babies and the fitst two times i put her in a seperate, heavily planted tank and she had her babies. But know ive run out of room and need to use a breeding trap, wich is already in the water waiting for her, and i used it for my guppy aswell but how long can i safely leave her in the breeder trap

many thanx

you can keep her in there as long as you want as long as she gets food but when the babies are born they will stay in there until they grow up

oh really?
everyone has said 2 days MAX?
but i THINK i have a pregnant platty. and she looks pregnant.
and where her gravid spot is ment to be it's red. and i can see a ew tiny black spots coming through it (:
BUT i have a pregnant guppy that is due in a day or two.
she isnt very big BUT people have said some dont get that big. and im going to put her into the breeding trap.
but i dont know if i can have them too in there together if the platty hasnt dropped her fry yet?
any help ?

u cant keep her in their as long as you want !!!!!!

she should only be in there minimum time as possible ideally 24-48hours max, she will become highly stressed in this!

and the babies should only be in it a couple of weeks maximum as well. :good:
