im going to start my first saltwater tank (55 gallons) and I want this tank to be really flashy and colorful. And i want some really active social fish, so in your opinion whats the most active and social saltwater fish?

all my fish seem to be out and active all day, especially around feeding times. I have 1 Niger trigger, 1 regal tang, 1 kole yellow eye tang, 1 flame angel, 2 gold striped maroon clowns, 3 reef chromis, and 3 pajama cardinals :hey:

of all those, the male clown and the cardinals are the least active, but they are always out where you can see them (not hiding in the LR and such)

Edited to ask SH if that fish in the pic behind the diver has a cigarette or something in his mouth lol

For that size tank I would say clowns. Puffers are very personable and a few other types but a 55 won't house them for very long.

Yes....I changed the sig, but, I'd hate to tell you where that came from..it was from a show I watched as a kid called 'Diver Dan'. SH

my perc clown is constantly in sight but my 6 line wrasse is constantly in and out the rocks, which makes for a more interesting site.

Well this is exactly what i was going for and must say am 100% satisfied with my selections. Now, if u want a fish only tank, id DEFINITELY recomend a flame angel if u add him last and do your research. If u want corals, heres my list:
True percula clown{Colorful, cute, nice calm personality}
Clarkii clown {excellent very unique personality, cute but not very colorful}
Yellow Tang{cute, calm, graceful swimmer and a vibrant splash of yellow!}
Yellow watchman goby{will hide in rock, but very unique personality and face when he comes out}
I am QTing a yellowtail blue damsel and I love their swimming patterns and color but if u decide on one of these guys, make sure to QT them a while. They have tendencies {due to horrid shipping techniques} to not be so healthy.
And you must have a royal gramma! Theyre color is eyecatching, they arent the most social but will "hang out" occasionally with others.

my saddleback puffer seems to be the most social and most personal fish in my tank..always out always being curious

My late fridmani psuedochromis was a beautiful playful fish. He would go in and out of holes in the rock I didnt even know where there til I got him.
