Iv`e had a major brakeout with the dreaded white spot, was treating with an unknown brand and wasn`t having much luck, which resulted in alot of deaths. I have now switched to Interpet treatment which has done wonders so far! The box says " x amount per liter on first day, then on day 4 add the same x amount, then after 7 days change 10% water and return the carbon filter! But the 7th day is saturady and my clown plec still has a few spots along with my last 2 clown loaches, so what do i do as i dont think the loaches are liking the treatment??????

You could do the water change and then treat the tank again to get rid of it still. Are your fish having a bad reaction to it or just not getting better?

i would suggest at least a 50% water change, after each treatment. also turn up the temp on your tank, sounds odd i know, but this will speed up the life cycle of the bug, allowing effective treatment in seven days.

I had clown loaches who all died while treating whitespot with the interpet treatment. If I could go back and do it again I would bin the interpet one and use eSHA Exit.Miles more effective. BTW, you should only use half dose with the clowns in (dont think it mentions that on the packaging). I honestly dont rate the interpet one at all. It may be an idea to isolate the clowns, turn the temp up to 30 degrees C and try a different med. Hope this helps Andy.

yep, all of the above. i have used interpet and been lucky and unlucky with it. Clowns are a pain to treat i lost 8 all at once.
take out carbon, turn up temperature, put in an air stone as meds deplete oxygen levels.

Well its looking good tonight my 2 clown loaches are out and about, i dropped some brine shrimp and pellets in for them and they went after it like mad men!! Clown pleco looks much better too. I did put the full dose in so im lucky to still have the loaches. Will do a 25-50% water change on saturady, still not sure if to add another dose or not, if i do it will be less than half of the recommended dose as i dont want to upset the loaches anymore.
