Hi everyone
Never got any replys to my last thread :( ( bar one) so my water turns out to be slightly green if i added more stem plants would this help to get rid of it?

Cheers and HELP!

:(

It's just an algae bloom, a lot of new tanks go thru it. Fast growing plants (Hygrophillia Polysperma is a good one) will help soak up the nutirents that the algae is using and should take care of it. Water changes will help too.

Hygrophillia Polysperma cant find any of this up here but got a few new stems today so hopfully it will start to go away

thanks for your help dude

i have always had a tinge of green water for the first 4/6 weeks when setting up. the tank just needs to find it's balance. personally i'd just keep doing 15% water changes every other day and it'll soon clear up.

direct sunlight is a big cause of green water. is the tank by a window by any chance?

ok so 90 watts, sorry i should have also asked for tank size in US Gallons. i'm trying to work out if you have a high light tank or not.

how many gallons is it?

okay so 1.8 WPG already. quite normal to have green water at first with that sort of lighting. wait until the water clears up before adding any more light. as i said just keep doing water changes and it will clear up

it cleard up about 3 days ago :) so i think ill be adding my lights tomorrow and then next week monday hopfully ill be getting a new co2 bottle so that i have a presurized co2 :D
