more fry

i thought our fish was sick, or pregnant though couldn't see a gavid spot. she looked thin this morning. we spotted one baby. i believe the rest havea lready been eaten. i cant find the one now either. should i like check the filter and clean it and things in case?

you could check the filter for babys but it is more likelt that the babys have all been eaten or are hiding in the plants

I don't know what type of fish you have but swordtail fry will burrow into the gravel to hide. They are very adept at hiding so if you have any plants or ornaments in your tank you may have a few survivors.

I've also found that if you turn all the lights out in the room and over the tank and then shine a flashlight at the tank the fry will generally come popping up out of hiding to come over to the light. However you might not want to do this if there are adults in the tank as you will be making the fry fair game for them.
