More Filteration?

i run a tetratec ex 1200 on a rio240 planted tank,i have the spray bar situated approx 1" below the water line (running vertical)but i have a constant gathering of rubbish around the base of the plants that are on the same side of the spray bar,i have tried putting the spray bar facing downwards but then i get no surface movement, should i be running another filter or something else, as well,?

Id add another ex1200 you can never have too much filtration. You could try a powerhead instead though to create more movement.
