Koda jr talked me into getting one.I think it's a common one...not blue.I was wondering if they carry any type of disease or parasites that I need to watch out for.And my fish shop owner says it probably won't bother a larger fish such as my fantail. But from reading here I wonder if this is correct.Any help?

Thanks :)

As far as unwanted "hitchhikers" pretty much the "standard fare" for aquatic life. Generally, they will not harrass larger fish, but that is certainly no guarantee. It may decide to attack any fish that it can get at, as it can tear up even larger fish. Especially while they are sleeping/resting. This is not to say it will happen, but it can.

Thanks for the reply. We decided to give him a 10g tank with a few guppies and some ghost shrimp.I don't want to take any chances with my fantail.Koda jr is fascinated with our new addition and I am becoming rather fond of the odd little creature myself:wub: They had some sort of blue lobsters at the pet shop today and I can just see myself becoming interested enough to look into getting one

Someday I will be able to visit a zoo without ever leaving the comfort of my own home

Yeah, thats a good idea. I have a goldfish (belongs to someone else) in there at the moment. Although it is much bigger than my Australian Blue Lobster, hes managed to take chunks out of its tail. Good job its moving on soon. :D
