"No one is a failure unless you try"
I have zero self-restraint.
I went to Walmart yesterday and decided to check the fish aisle... I assumed it was safe, since they don't get their fish shipments until Thursdays.
I assumed wrong.
Lo and behold, their betta shipment had come in a day early! Of course, I can't help but sift through them... first thing I see is a pair of yellow males with green fin tips! Immediately I know I'm doomed. I pass up the yellows because they both had fin rot and I don't particularly like the colour anyway. The breeder our Walmart orders from has been experimenting with different colours lately, so I'm sure they'll have some more in at a later date. I spy a purple gas male and immediately fall in love (he looks more blue in the photos thanks to the camera flash.)
Well, as I triumphantly claim him and prepare to leave, I spy the cup that was behind him... lavender butterfly! At least I think that's what one would call this pattern... he's gorgeous, in any case. Very pearly white.
The second I saw him, I cursed. I knew I couldn't resist, even though I'm already overrun with bettas.
There are now seven bettas staring at me as I type this, and I couldn't be happier!
Edit: Oopsie, one of those images was bigger than I imagined.
