Just been looking on the net and have come accross some moonlight tubes for aquariums and I thought they would look cool. Has any one had any experience with them? Are they any good? What are there benifets if any?

Would be interesting to know before i buy one.

Also want to have a go at hatcing my own brine shrimp got loads of info so thought I would give it ago.

I have a 35 Gallon Tropical Aquarium(not 30 like I thought)

I have a set of cold cathode moonlights set up on my tank.

The main benefit to me is that I can view my fish for longer in the evenings - my normal photoperiod is about 11 hours for my live plants, but i use the moonlights for about 1/2 hr in the morning a couple of hours at night (they overlap slightly on timers). This means that the fish are visible until I go to bed. I think it also helps with making the transition from full light to dark (and back again) less shocking for the fish and more natural.

You can also dim the moonlights to replicate the cycle of the moon, which some people claim helps with breeding of some species - not sure myself.

Also, if you have nocturnal fish or shrimp, then you get to see them a lot more as they'll come out of hiding when the moonlights are on.

it also looks quite cool in my opinion.

may be worth looking at blue cold cathode set up for computers! could well be cheaper.

Where are you from?
I got my blue cold cathodes from ebuyer, really cheap. Just needs a slight modification to connect it to the power supply.
