Hi, is it a cyst or tumour do you think and should I quaranteen him? He's swimming and eating fine. ouldn't get a decent photo so video was next best option. Thanks in advance. Oooooops sorry, forgot to say lump is on his left side behind gill.

Can you describe what the lump looks like, colour and texture.
Does it look hard or like filled with fluid.
Best to issolate fish when ill as lumps can burst and infect the tank with there puss.

Its under the skin and where its stretching the skin it gone white. Looking at the odd shape of it (not completely round) i'd say it seems more of a hard lump.

So it dosn't have a red and white mottling to it, like a hamburger.
If its hard it could be a tumour, all you can do is try a bacterial med, if it is a tumour there nothing to be done.
Is it possible to load a pic up of the fish with the lump.
Are the gills red and inflamed, with excess mucas.
Can't make the pic out to well.

Nothing else untoward at all. I'll try to get another pic but he won't pose . could you see it any better on the video?

Didn't notice it was a video, took a look he dosn't look to bad not showing any signs of dying.
I would try the bacterial med and see how he goes.
Is he a grey colour but gone pale.

He's same colour as he normaly is. Thanks for your help. Will try the meds and see what happens, i'm more inclined to think its a tumour though :(

Usually with tumours we still say try a bacterial med first if no improvement at least you tryed everything,
Fish can last quite a while with tumours.
