Boo, should have left it alone poor thing.

Whats wrong with eating the catch? In the article it said some groups were arguing for its release but it died before it was put back. Its only right to eat it after its dead.

I didn't realize someone alright posted a link to this story in the catfish section :*) Oops!!

I wonder how long it took for this catfish to get this size??? A catfish that size kinda freaks me out :alien:

I'm not sure if it should of been returned or eaten but I guess it died so it was better they ate it instead of just letting it rot or something.

Wow, big catfish.. Looks yummy. lol.. Bet that thing would clean a tank clean lol.

If they ate it, I would expect it would have tasted "muddy" as some freshwater trout do  - just not my kinda thing.
But such an imense shame it died - or even got caught in the first place :grr:

I wouldn't wanna go swimming where they cought that catfish! I have to say I hate underwater monsters. Unless there in a viewable tank. :alien:

I so agree with you!! I hate swimming in ponds because I cant see whats around me. When I was little we had a huge pond and I usually stayed in the shallow end but sometimes I'd swim in the deep end..well I can remember my brother telling me Liz theres something huge coming after you. There I am in my life jacket doggy paddling to the shore  Bad brother!!!

I also had a fear when I was little of taking a bath...it was all due to seeing that movie JAWS!!! not a great movie for a 7-8 year old to see

Poor thing it dosn't look to good and it has finrot on its tail, don't no why they just couldn't leave it alone, always after haul them out of the water to see how big they are with a measuring tape.

Did anyone see the story a couple months ago about the guy from Illinois who caught The record larget catfish ever in the US after fishing in the mississisppi. It was about 3/4 the size of the one in thailand. Anyways, instead of throwing it back the guy decides he wants to donate it to a fishing shop (I have no idea what those stupid things are called in technical terms) where this specific shop has a giant tank. Well, they get a special truck to transport the fish because the shop is a couple states away and guess what happened? The fish died. There was a followup article where someone involved with the transport stated "we just can't figure out why he died." If a fish hadn't died I'd laugh at their idiocy.
