I was wondering if anyone has heard of mollies and guppies crossbreeding. I know it can happen with swordtails and platys.

The reason I'm asking is that I have 2 two month old fry in my tank I cant identify. They look nothing like the guppy fry I've had but are white with black speckles and look very much like my dalmation molly. But my molly (not sure if male or female) has been on their own in the tank without a mate for over 8 months. I know livebearers can retain sperm for a while but I'm sure they can't for that long :/

The other fish in the tank are guppies, halfbeaks, harlequins, cardinal tetras, corys and algae shrimp.

Any ideas anyone?

Swordtails and platys are very closely related though, and have bred in the wild, mollies and guppies are quite different fish...... I haven't heard of any instances but then nothing would suprise me!!

I guess because no one else has answered they haven't heard either!!! :X
