We were buying a platinum lyretail molly, but the sales person bagged a different molly by mistake.....we didn't have the heart to take her back, so we kept her and just went back for our lyretail LOL

She isn't a lyretail and I don't think she is a sailfin or a balloon......but I am not sure what kind she is, can anybody help??

From the pic you posted, I would have to go with Sailfin Molly. Just judging by the body shape (I can't see an anal fin or pelvic fin of any sort), I'd say it was female - if you were curious to know.

Yes this one is a female.....I am sure about that, unlike my adrogenus (sp?) platy LOL........I wasn't able to find a female pic before of a sailfin and wasn't how the top fin looked, now seeing the pic I would have to agree that is the species

I used to have a gorgeous black lyretail sailfin molly, he was beautiful!! So upset that he succumed to whatever hit our tank......he was all the kinds wrapped up in one fish, and his sailfin was beautiful!!

looks like a green sailfin to me.i used to have one but my evil gourami chased it around until i found it covered in fungus
