Molly Is Furry

You'd be best looking into Trichogaster trichopterus which comes under various common names and colour morphs, heres a link to a few pics--> http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=209002 if you click on the picture this'll take you to the species index which'd provide further info.
If you'd like more than one then get 2/3 females and a male. Don't get more than one male though, this'd be asking for trouble.
They can get to 6" as well; make sure you don't overstock.

People may suggest you try colisa lalia (dwarf gourami) while they would probably be quite suitable behaviour wise, due to the inherent health issues associated with the species at the moment, i'd advise against it.

Due to the provision of this info, if you do aquire a trichopterus, you must feed me a pic or 2 for the ID thread (so there).
Hope that helps.

Ok so you suggest - Trichogaster trichopterus: 3 spot gourami, blue gourami, golden gourami, opaline gourami....... is this correct? by the way nice thread :good: will the different Trichogaster trichopterus breed with each other? or do I have to get a couple of the same ones??

I will defantly send some pic's your way if I end up getting some Trichogaster trichopterus.

Yes, thats the one.
Yep, they will and can breed, same species, just different colour morphs.
Although it doesn't happen too often in community tanks.
Just to reiterate; Make sure you don't keep 2 males together and keep at least 2 females to your individual male.
What size is your tank?

The one that the Barbs are in at the moment is 75 litres but I have got a 4 foot tank which I am going to strat a fishless cycle on then transfer the barbs into the 4 foot tank when its ready... I will get extra barbs so i have a total of 6 tiger barbs and 6 green barbs in the 4 foot tank. as for the gourami's, I will put 2 or 3 females and one male I like the golden ones but will proberly get a mixture ................ I know they are a different type but I am quite taken by the colour of the moonlight Gourami would that be suitable to put into the tank with the barbs and Trichogaster trichopterus?
