Hi! I just brought home this molly. It has an albino quality to it, but has black eyes and some black dusting/speckles closer to the tail. Here is a pic, tho not a good one as my camera isn't very good.

without red eyes it wont be albino, somewhere in its genes there may be some albino which could explain the similarity, ive got a Mollie thats mainly black but has the odd gold speck. there so interbred that ive Gold Mollies can give birth to fry and have no Gold in them at all, its part of the fun for me, having all different coloured fry.

definately not albino, as nick said lacking red eyes, but she is lovely, maybe a sailfin although im not to sure on that

and it sperate the bettas unless you want dead fish

Your reponse has me confused - are mollies not compatible with bettas? How so?

Thanks.

Bettas don't make the best tankmates for any kind of fish. There are exceptions, and that is normally an individual case basis. If you are not noticing any aggression at all or signs of nipped fins, don't worry about it. Just keep an eye out as Bettas are highly territorial.

I think the problem with the bettas is that you are keeping a male and a female in a tank together. They may not fight for a while, but at some point you will more than likely end up with one or both dead.

And bettas and mollies on a statistical basis don't really go well together. But I personally used to keep a male betta in with my mollies without any problems. I'm sure that is variable though. I could have just gotten lucky.

its keeping the male and female together that worries me most, some bettas will tolerate other fish, others certainly won't, just be prepared to seperate them if it comes to it

Thank you for all of the suggestions. I always observe all my fish for around an hour a day, especially during feeding. I am prepared to separate them if needed, but the betta that is in with my female actually haven't even bothered with each other. I have heard of other people having males and females share a tank without probs. I will keep my eye open.

i have a female Betta with my five Mollies and two Platies, every so often my only male Mollie squares up to her and they have a staring competition until both get bored. they all tend to get along well enough.
