my dad gave me some molly fry about a month ago. they r now 2 months old. but 1 fry is different to the rest. she has a really round belly. same colour and all but different shape. i cant tell if they r all male or all female yet but i was wondering if there is a way she could be pregnant? also he told me they cross bred with sailfin mollies and bubble mollies but i have never heard of bubble mollies until he told me about them. has anyone on here heard of them? also how do u post a pic on here? this is my first time on here.

:hi: to the forum. Introduce yourself in the newbie section.

I think he meant balloon mollies, but I'm not sure how that'd work.

If you try a sailfin molly, use a punnet square to see if the fry will have the fins. Assuming that you use the fry you have and they have at least one recessive allele for normal fins, you should be able to get sailfin mollies. However, I'm not sure which genotype is recessive and if you only have fry with two dominant alleles for normal fish, you won't have much luck. :/

I'd suggest you wait for someone else to explain this to you better, because I'm not too sure about this myself.

If you've got a site that hosts pics you can subscribe to their service and use the img button to type the URL for the pics. otherwise you can upload pics from your computer (I believe only certain sections of this forum allow that). Once more, wait for more replies.

As for the baby, it might have a birth defect or might have been overfed if it was only with you for one day. I don't think livebearers can copulate that early...

 If the fry have a rounded belly, they are balloon mollies. These are my favorite kind of mollies becasue of their balloon-shaped bellies. My 5 month old balloon molly started developing her rounded belly within the first month. Good luck with the fry! :fish:
