Roughly how long does it take for fry to grow to a decent size where it wont be in danger of other bigger fish?

i assume the other fish are those listed in your sig?? depending on diet, but fed on a high protein diet they could be ready in about 4-6 weeks, but saying that im not sure that a 125L would be large enough to house your current stock and a whole batch of mollie fry :/

tho i have been known to be wrong on occasion

how many babies did u get just out of interest and was it your first batch of fry... congratulations all the same :)

I will be honest in that I have only spotted 1. He seems to be hanging around the back near the plants and he is very fast if anyone comes near his area.

You'll get plenty more next time!!
We regularly get between 20-30 fry each time (that I can save). Some get eaten, and others turn up dead in the filter.
I always find more appearing 2-3 days after the initial batch, often lurking under things.
LFS always ends up with a good steady stream of mollies from us!

aww, like dave says you`ll have more nexttime, just put the baby in a breeding net within the tank, and feed crushed flake, he/she willl be fine in there..oh and keep your eyes open.. well u never know

good luck

Shelaugh, I have been wrong on many occasions but mollies is something I do understand. In 4 weeks of good growing, the molly fry should be about the size of the ones in this picture. They should be fine with all but the gouramis and the angel. I would give them at least 2 more weeks to get big enough to live with those larger predators. If all they need to worry about is the molly, they are good on their birthday, as these were with their mother.
