Molly Flirting....

I know it's probably not possible but last night my molly was following one of my platys around and rubbing up against her. It looked so like flirting! I have a few female platys but he's my only molly. Poor little fella is probably frustrated!

They deffo can't mate, but that won't stop them from trying.

As the_lock_man said, the fact that the fish cannot cross does not mean that the male won't try. No doubt a frustrated molly male will mate with a platy, a decoration or anything else that presents itself. These are simple animals that are not too smart really.
