Im a first time fish tank owner. and i really like fish... the lady at the pet store got me to buy some mollies a couple months ago and have been keeping the tank clean and all that stuff... but am looking to breed the mollies for a little experiment.. i only have two of them and one is a golden molly and the other is a white lyretail molly... are they compataible? if yes how do i go about breeding them?

Well you need to see if the fish are male and female. If they are I'm positive you'll eventually get some babies. :)

:hi: to this forum. Introduce yourself in the newbie section. :D

Some tips: put some aquarium salt in the tank because they prefer somewhat saline water.

Don't breed them unless you have another tank or room in your tank for the fry.

The pinned thread in the livebearers section should give you some good advice on livebearer breeding.

I'd move this post to the livebearer sectioon because that'll help you out, somewhat, but I'm not a mod and therefore can't do that. :D
