i was wondering if platys, mollies or swordtails interbreed

Basically No. but the different colour types of the same species will interbreed happily.

How ever there is a slim line that platy's and swords will cross breed.

Yes the swordtails and platys can crossbreed, i've seen the hybrids myself, but mollys won't crossbreed with either of those two fish. Mollys and guppys can crossbreed (although this is exceptionally rare, but not impossible), and guppys and endlers can crossbreed with each other.
