Mollies - Sit At Surface After Eating? Normal?

Hello everyone.

Just a quick one really (i hope)

I've noticed recently that after feeding my mollies they seem to run around feeding as per normal, but about 5 mins after they have fed they seem to congregate near the surface. All the fish are happy enough, the babies hang out there too, so I guess things are ok.

Is this normal behaviour? I can't say i noticed it in my old tank.

Tank specs - RIO 240l, Amm = 0, NitrITE = 0 and Nitrate = not sure, my test kit shows its very low, about 10ppm? It says 110 is high and mine is no where near that level.

Planted tank, about 30 mollies, 7-10 adults, millions of fry!

Any ideas?

Strange cos my mollies do this after feeding as well, i have had my mollies a long time and they have always done this and they are fine, i dont think its nothing to worry about.

Thought that might be the case.

Is the surface well agitated, if not your fish may not be getting enough O2 and that may be why.
