Went to my local World of Water on Sunday and bought 2 black mollies.

I normally like to research any fish I buy before hand but the mollies caught my girlfriends eye and seeing its the first time she has ever really taken an interest in the fish I thought I would buy them to try and kick start more of an interest in my hobby.

Get home and Google my new buy and look on this ever helpful forum to see they like brackish water, and are prone to illness if not kepy in brackish water.

Im angry with myself for buying them without researching and slighty miffed at the LFS for not making me aware of this.

It strikes me that perhaps they should of made me aware of it or am I being short sighted in thinking this?

Tbh, mollies do just fine in freshwater. As long as there is no ammonia/nitrite present, they don't give a jiff about the salt levels. :good:

Yup, I agree with that. The great salt debate.

The key is to keep your husbandry up.

Looks like as you say keep up regular water changes and everything nice and clean.

Thanks for all the replies.
