Mollies Breeding

Hi,

How long will it take for moonshine mollies, black mollies and platies to breed after being put in a tank with many real plants. Also how long after mating will the fry be born. Also how many will be born. Im not near breeding as only been 5 days in my tank lol im just curious.

hi again if your fish are adults its more than likely they are already pregnant, as mollys can store sperm from one sesh shall we say and have up to 6 lost of fry
the number of fry depends on the age of the female i would say my mollies have between 20-90 fry last drop was 90 she was huge,what are you using for capturing the fry? i use a breeding tank i sware by them

Im probably going to get a breeding net but a breeding tank sounds good what size would you recomend. I got quite a few fish vouchers for christmas

what size good question i have only seen them in 2 sized i go for the larger they priced around £3 -£3.50 u can use for either one fish or 2 as they come with a devidor

if you dont have a fry tank for the young and are keeping them in the breeding tank i would advise on buying more than one if your wanting to keep the fry as the others will eat them if you let them into the larger tank
