hi all.

ive noticed something strange with my mollies yesterday i seperated both females as the both looked like they were ready to drop

during there seperation the male molly would not leave the side of the seperation tank not even for food i thought it was cute and decided to get on with other activities,

about an hour or two later i came back to have a look to see that one female and just layed what look like eggs infertile ohwell i suppose and the male molly was still at the side at closer look i noticed that little blue spots (could be white as ive got a moon light in the tank aswell as a light to brighten colours)

these were definentley not on him that morning as i check all fish for any signs of illness or attack after i put the female molly back in and he started humping her and went on his merry way

i half dossed the tank for whitespot (half dose because of clown loaches and bgkf) just incase it was whitespot ive just checked on him and some of the spots have went away and at close examination of the female molly and the best way to describe it is that she is shedding her skin ??

or its peeling away just at one side and she seems to have some spots developing i havent noticed any signs of distress or any other fish attacking her,

just done a water test Ph is sitting a tad bit high at 8.5 but ill correct this tomorrow and the ammonia is around 0.1 nitrite and nitrates are clear

15% water change and tank clean was done on saturday last week.

she is in a group of 4 females and 2 male ballons mollies

other tank mates consits of

11neon tetras, 3 red eye tetras, 3cardinal tetras

2 silver sharks, 4 clown loaches, bgkf

2 head bangers and 2 plecs

any ideas ?

also half dosing the tank do i redo the dose aswell after 10 days or just leave it as it is ?
