Mold On The Tank Hood

Yup, you read read the topic right. There is mold growing on the top of my hood. I bought a used tank and stand, and for the top has air holes which are covered with a wire mesh. Mold has began growing on the mesh. Is there any way I can clean it off? I know to avoid all chemicals.

some is white, some is green, and some black. The wide spectrum of moldy colors.

Try hot salty water, can you remove the mesh and use a toothbrush.

Why not go and get a real hood maybe one from all glass aqauriums or something its black, comes with a light and hood and no holes or mesh to collect mold.
