I was wondering if it would be ok to use models in aquariums?
And has eanyone done it?

It depends what they are made of, and what they are painted with -_- . Lots of people do it though.

I cant see where its a problem as long as there is no paint i.e. colered plastic and they are clipped together w/o any of the modeling glue or aquarium safe silicon in its place! Good luck with it tho. Give us some pictures when your done.

Do you mean the models that you make and glue together? If so you'd have to make sure that the glue was save for fish. It be cool but fake imo. For a fake looking tank I think it would be cool if you put models of cars then fish could swim all through the windows and stuff.

Well thats what Im working on, I have 3 tanks Im setting up and one will have a fake theme to it.
Im thinking of using the one in the first pic of the old ship. Either that or a submarine model.
But Im going for a old model of a old rotten ship.

I think that will be cool for a fake tank. I noticed that you had a pirates of the carribean sig so I it gave me the idea that maybe you could do a pirates of the carribean theme! You could do the old ship that you want and get some little figurines of Jack Sparrow, Davie Jones and all of the others. Do you know the aerator ornament things? You could get a treasure chest one of those. And for a substrate you could use fake jewels or sand to look like the ocean floor. It just an idea but I think it would look really cool!

Nah, I like pirates of the carribean, but not enough to set the tank up.... But there will be a model of either an old ship or war craft(planes, subs, ext)......

Thanks,
As soon as I set it up Ill share pics. Whatever I do I hope there are no materials that will harm the fish.
