Wooohoo,newfishies!! I know Ms.Sorrell is road tripping down here for it ,fur sure

flb~ I'm not sure what the awards will look like. Or if I'll even take any Best of Shows Gotta wait and see,that's the fun part. Each club designs their own awards so it shall be interesting to see what they've come up with. Sometimes it's a simple certificate,which is still good

Show results are in. I'm pretty proud of my reds ) When I sent them in I classed them as solid iridescent males,because I feel it's rather arrogant of me to class them as non-iridescent since a non- iridescent red is like.. And,again,they moved my kids to that class! I'm flattered )

Almost everybody placed.
5 1st places.
5 2nd.
3 3rd
I also got the Best of Show Male (one of my marble boys! )
Reserve Best of Show male (a red solid)
and lastly the Reserve BOS female,which was probably an orange girl.

Here's the Novice point standing as of this far. A few more shows to go and I might take the Grand Championship of this year I'm still not going to convention though

Ooooh gorgeous bettas. I wish I lived nearby; I'd love to see the show. I really want to get my future bettas from a breeder so I can support you guys instead of those dang pet stores. You seem very responsible, wuv, but alas - I can't buy any more fishies right now as I'm at my limit. heh. Good luck at the show, I'm sure your beautiful little guys will find excellent homes with breeders.

BTW, Congrats on your wins! You breed quality, and it shows!

Thanks you guys,I'm stoked. I ran and gave everybody a water change to celebrate (we're easy to please around here we find joy in our daily,mundane tasks )

newfishies~ convention is the last hooplah of the show season.It's in Florida this year. It's when everybody who's anybody ( ) travels to one location for three days of festivities etc. You can meet all of the big wigs like Gene Lucas etc.A lot of the Thai breeders come over and such.There are lectures on genetics and all that good stuff,award ceremonies etc. They give out the final IBC awards for the top show people of the year etc etc. Everybody usually saves their BEST fish for convention so I would imagine the auction is to die for.
My club president has mentioned me to the Texas fish commitee ...something or other (TOMAS? I believe...).. and I'll probably get a "Texan show person of the year" award as well. That I'll probably go to since it's local. Ya never know...I may wind up going to convention if there is still room. But it's really expensive
