Mixing T5 And T8 Lighting

hi,

i've recently purchased a tropical fish tank of the following size;

H51cm(19.7") x W66cm(26") x D38cm(15") (20G/90Litres)

I'm planning on keeping tropical fish, with silica sand, black/blue background, plastic plants and a few decors and mopani wood.

It already has a t5 13w single tube with power supply and button fitted, and with the light on, it doesnt look as eye catching as the tanks in the local pet store.

My question is can i fit a Arcadia 15 Watt T8 along with the t5 already fitted? Will it look right and have other people done this? is mixing lights recommended? Also should i be going for 18" or a 24" bar?

i'm a newbie so any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated.

with no plants in there your just creating an alge magnet, try changing the actual bulb for a brighter white one, there are loads of diffrent types. just have a browse

thanks for your advise, i've added another 13w t5 lamp with ballast and the lighting has improved greatly..
