Thx for wilder help now I find my solution to the parasite problem, but the question remain is the doesage I should use on my food. I was wondering if any one can give me some suggestion on doesage this kind of medicine on fish food(and how I use it on fish food this HITH medicine comes in powder form). I'm currently feeding them anti parasite medi food from jungle lab. I will finish this treatment probably in a few more week and start on new treatment if not working :(. Any one having this kind of problems before?

Thx for looing

This is what I do for angels, you may want to look into the maximum temp your fish can handle. Metro was originally designed for humans, the closer you can get the tank to 98.6F the better.

Put the angel in a quar tank, I usually use a 10 gallon. Increase the temp over a day or so to 90-94F. Treat daily with 40 mg/gallon metronidazole, with 50% water changes daily. If the fish isn't eating, don't feed for the first 3 days. After 3 days, get some frozen brine shrimp. Take a portion about the size of a few match heads, and sprinkle on some metro. You have to eyeball this one, make the shrimp look kind of like a tiny powdered donut. Once it thaws, mix it in & feed. Sometimes they still don't eat for a few days, but once they start to mouth the food & spit it out, the meds seem to get in their system real good. Continue medicating the water & food for 7-10 days.

Metronidazole is sold as flagyl, het-a-mit, and a few other names I can't recall offhand, used to treat hexamita & hole in the head. They usually suggest 20mg/gallon, this often isn't enough. Metro deteriorates in 8 hours, so you could do twice daily water changes. I've done this on the weekends when I have time.

I've also added epsom salt while using metro, this helps with any constipation issues, cleans out the digestive tract. I start with 1 teaspoon per 10 gallons of water, increasing by 1 teaspoon daily for 2 more days to bring it up to 3 teaspoons per gallon. You will have to adjust how much you use when doing water changes. You may want to give this a try.

HTH, & good luck!

My current temperature is at 86 as it is a quantine tank for this loaches I will try to go to 90 but I'm not sure if clown will be able to take 94+f so I see how they do in 90 before I raise it too much. If I treat the fish to eat bloodwarm so I put the warm into the powder that contain no water and let the powder attach to the warm then feed them to the CL. And change water every days? Also I just found out that my current brand of HITH medicine also contain sodium chloride and acriflavine would it be ok for clown with this medicine as you seem to use metronidazole only.

Thx for ur help

I wouldn't go too much higher with the temperature. 86 may be good enough, I've had the temp near 100 for angels, treated an oscar the same way, he was at 90F for a few days. These are n.w. cichlids that can handle a little more heat than a lot of other fish.

Daily water changes are needed. Fresh water is one of the best things for fish. I've treated angels with torn up fins due to pairing behavior with just daily 50% water changes.

Sodium chloride is salt, acriflavin should be ok for them. I order metro in bulk online from http://www.fishyfarmacy.com/products2.html It's cheaper than any lfs, in an emergency you can have it shipped next day.

I put a little frozen brine shrimp in a shotglass, sprinkle on the metro, & let it thaw for about half an hour. Mix it in & drop it in with an eyedropper.
