Hello

Am thinking of setting up another TROPICAL aquarium- though this time for things a little different.

Would like to put crabs in (red or rainbow). Have been told that they are best not kept with things such as frogs, albino toads, etc. Is this the case as before I have been told they'll be fine?

Any help appreciated

Sam

crabs tend to be nocturnal scavengers so at night when everything is asleep the crabs sneak around and eat em up.

The only crab that is really suitable for keeping in 100% freshwater is the rainbow crab also known as the african land crab, This species require a land area and need to be kept alone. They are aggressive to other crabs and to any fish or other tankmates that you may try and give them.

Fiddler crabs and Red clawed crabs are also sold as freshwater species but really they are brackish or even marine species.
If kept in freshwater they will seem fine for around 6-8 weeks but will then die for no apparent reason,
