Hi all

my 90ltr tank has been going for about a month now and so far well, i have 4 red legged hermit crabs, 4 blue legged hermit crabs, 4 turbo snails and a sand sifting star but i have had a big influx of white mites, i noticed this because my crabs began dropping their legs and this might be the cause???

i wondered what fish i might be able to get to sort this mite problem or am i worrying over nothing?

thanks

What do these mites look like?

They are most likely just pod's and nothing to worry about (they are good for the tank and also a good source of food for most fish). Hermit crabs dropping legs is something completely different if they are just pods.

they look like white little ' on the glass but ive seen them walking around the sand and hermit crabs as well?

i was planning on getting a couple of clown fish this weekend and wondered if they would eat them?

Agreewith Barney - get out a magnifying glass and take a close look at them, then google copepods, rotifers
