Missing Scales

Red has been missing one scale for weeks now which hhasn't grown back, today I noticed he's missing another right beside the first missing scale.

Should they grow back in time?

as far as i am aware scales don't grow back, i had a male missing a few on the top of his head that never grew back

no idea, my male came from the store like it, didn't notice until i got him home

Oh that's a shame I wondered why the first one hadn't grown back. I think he knocked one off yesterday because I was moving stuff about in the tank because my filter broke.
