ok I have a stupid sister (who knows nothing about fish)who turned up yesterday with 3 guppies for me (2 female 1 male).
I shouldnt really call her stupid cause she knew I was gonna get them
anyway they settled well in the tank with 2 mickey mouse platys 2 kribs and 5 neon tetras.
This morning we got up and I have kids checking the tank daily so they get to know what the fish look like so if there is anything wrong they will know.
Anyway this morning we were checking the fish and the maly guppy is missing.
We have checked full tank moving anything it could be hiding and there is no sign of it.
He has completely disappeared.
Anyone have any ideas what might have happened to him???

i would take everything out cause he could be hiding under something you are moving and hiding under something else. watch to see if you see him. check the filter also. the only other thing is, he could have gotten eaten.....i have a similar problem with my pleco. i guess i would check up on the other fish in the tank and see if they are aggressive toward any smaller fish.

i hope you find him

he was biggest thing in the tank and Ive had everythign out tank looking for him.
I did have a bullying mickey mouse platy but that was in a breeding net when this guppy went missing.
Ive now put him back in tank and hes fine with other platy he was bullying

it's definatly hard to say. another possibility is that he died and the others ate him.? it's fustrating since there i sno sign of him, i know. maybe someone else will have some answers. did you stir around the gravel (if you have it) a bit just to see if he had died?

yep did that just no sign at all lol
oh well Ill wait a few weeks then get another male guppy and at least I know kids are checking the tank lol

that happened to me once, i had one missing took everything out and he wasnt there, 2 days latter he was back swimming around. if he did die his body should still come up even if the others did eat some of him. did you check the filter?

Chanses are he jumped out so I would just buy a new one. Look all around the tank on the floor at where he could have fallen. I would just get a new one cause even if he is alive it won't hurt to have an extra one.
