I am having bad luck with guppies. The first one I bought turned up dead the next day after purchase. My replacement is just missing altogether. The funny part is that they were both yellow. Is it possible he was eaten over night completely by the other fish? I even looked around the tank.

What kind of catfish is the 'spotted' catfish in your sig?

I'm going to guess the swords, they're big enough. Thing is, guppies aren't the most hardy fish, and it might have died by itself, and then just got eaten.

Check inside your filter - it may have got chewed on then sucked up. Guppies are always dying - they have been bred so much they are weak

how big were the guppies,if they were young my best gess is the were slaughtered by the betas, also yes check the filter, but make sure your nose is pluged :D :D :D

p.s good luck wiith the crimes

I bought 2. I have a blue one that is going strong. btw I do not have a betta yet

Dont mix bettas and guppies it will end in a bloodbath.

I'n my opinion bettas are not really a community fish, they are far better alone with a few shrimps, snails or bottom dwellers.

They also prefer slightly higher temps than most community fish and are not best suited to flake food as it does not contain all the nutrients required for them specifically.

I don't see anything in your signature list that would pose a real threat to a live guppy Cripp. How do these guppies look in the tank they are coming from? Is your tank water similar in chemical composition, pH, TDS, hardness, to the water the fish are coming from? IME guppies are tough as nails fish, but I have been led to believe that is no longer the case by people here and elsewhere. I also do not worry much about putting a guppy with a betta because I would not keep a betta that was a real threat to anything besides another betta. I have seen lots of people who think a betta is a threat to almost any other fish but it just does not match my own experience. I presently have a nice red male in my 120 gallon community tank and a nice blue male in a 45 gallon tank that has pretty much just wild type endlers, him and a few habrosus cories. Both are good citizens in their respective tanks and don't really bother anyone else.

I bought a 3rd yellow guppy and it to is missing. Looks like something in the tank likes yellow.
Also, the cory cat is missing. maybe i have a parahna hiding in there.
